 Shawneen Thompson Is Named Vice President And General Manager Of Radio One’s Philadelphia Market

 
In December, Radio One, Inc. named Shawneen Thompson vice president and general manager of its Philadelphia radio stations.
 
Shawneen joined Radio One in March of 2010 as station manager of the St. Louis radio stations. She was promoted to vice president and general manager July 20, 2013. After successfully managing the operations in this market, she was tapped to move on to the bigger market of Philadelphia.
 
“I’m excited to continue my journey with Radio One in the Philadelphia market. I look forward to working with this phenomenal team to enhance our listener experience and build customers through idea generation. Together we will create new opportunities in the changing media landscape,” says Thompson.
 
“Shawneen’s performance in St. Louis has been consistent since she joined us is 2010,” says Chris Wegmann, president, Radio Division. “She has demonstrated that she can get the job done by growing the top and bottom lines for the company. Her leadership and involvement in the St. Louis community have set new standards in ratings and revenue. I know she will do great things for the company in Philadelphia.”
