Associate or Full Professor of
Mechanical Engineering

The School of Engineering at UC Merced invites applications
for a tenured faculty position in Mechanical Engineering
with an emphasis in Complex and/or Energy Systems. The
candidate will play an integral part in the development
of Mechanical Engineering undergraduate and graduate programs,
and is expected to contribute to the development of the
Merced Energy Research Institute. All areas related to
Mechanical Engineering will be considered, but candidates
with proven expertise in the following areas are especially
encouraged to apply: radiation heat transfer, energy systems,
novel solar energy technologies, complexity analysis and
design of thermal systems, heat sinking networks. The
candidate should be a recognized leader in his/her field
of research at national and international levels, have
an outstanding record as a teacher and in service to his/her
university and/or scientific community, and be comfortable
applying a broad-range of research tools across multiple
