How does Bank of America reach out to recruit a diversified workforce, especially people with disabilities and Wounded Warriors?

Cynthia H. Bowman
Bank of America furthers its commitment to hire veterans, Guard and Reserve members as one component of an integrated strategy to help military veterans and their families return to civilian life through education, employment, wellness, and housing. Since 2011, Bank of America has hired more than 4,000 veterans, Guard, and Reserve members thanks to a dedicated team focused on military recruiting, and partnerships with organizations such as the Network of Champions, the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, PeopleScout, the Bush Institute, and the Joining Forces Initiative. With this enhanced focus, the bank will maintain this pace and hire 10,000 over the next several years. The bank also supports nonprofits that provide transitional employment opportunities, job training, and vocational education for service members, their spouses, and caregivers through Wounded Warrior Project, Student Veterans of America, Operation Homefront, Mission Continues, Goodwill Industries, and Special Operations Warrior Foundation

Does Bank of America sponsor diversity councils or affinity groups for its employees?

Cynthia H. Bowman
Bank of America‘s employee networks are bank-supported groups made up of employees who share a common dimension of diversity, along with others who support them. Employee networks form around race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, parental status, and veteran status. In 2012, through employee networks around the world, more than 60,000 employees connected and participated in networking opportunities, mentoring programs, information forums, and various volunteer events. Many members also served in leadership roles and led initiatives for recruiting, client development, and community partnerships. We have just launched an inter-generational employee network.
